Nourished Life Gratitude List 2016 – Week Forty-Three

Gloomy Sunday nights should be spent just like this. I am currently binge watching something called ‘Good Witch’ on Netflix. It’s hokey, and definitely Hallmark Channel, but utterly delightful, and sickly sweet and perfect for long afternoons when you have nothing more important to do and your body and mind need a rest. With that in mind, here is my Nourished Life Gratitude List 2016 – Week Forty-Three:
2016-wk-43-saladOn Tuesday I tried a new thing and ran to yoga. I did a big looping circuit of our neighbourhood to end up with 6km before the sun set and yoga started. It was such a refreshing end to the day, and by the time our final relaxation came around I was completely unwound from my cares of the day. I am grateful for my breath this week: the hard breathing of running up hills, and the slow deep belly breaths that connect me back to my body during yoga.2016-wk-43-runThis week I wrote a thing to celebrate National Nutrition Week 2016. It felt so good to flex those nutrition writing muscles again. I am grateful that I took the chance to write and publish something that used a different part of my brain and drew me back into my original passion for nutrition. 2016-wk-43-market-breakfastSaturday started with a double date to the markets with Mum and our family friend Therese. I had the best gluten free bagel filled with avocado, tomato, and rocket and a chai latte. I bought sweet red grapes, a gorgeous ripe watermelon, and so many avocados. I was grateful for a slow morning with the ladies, and that I managed to grab some new plants for my garden – I’m making a real go of it this summer I promise! 2016-wk-43-beetsMy sister and her husband are on holidays in the USA at the moment and keep posting glorious photos of their trip. They are visiting some of the same places that Chris and I went to last year, and a few other cities that I have been to previously. I am really enjoying reliving some of my favourite memories through their photos, and I am grateful they are having a wonderful time. They are one of the hardest working couples I know, and I am grateful that their holiday is going to bring them fantastic memories for years to come. 2016-wk-43-capreseI am beginning to understand the meaning of Sunday. Lately I have been taking the opportunity to rest for at least half the day on Sunday. I put something I have been looking forward to watching on the television, or pick up a super absorbing book, and then just switch my brain, my phone, and my cares off. I am grateful that I have the chance to take some time out for me, and to let the stress go before the week begins.

Okay friends, tell me what are you grateful for this week?
