Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend, and have something exciting to look forward to this week. Here is my Nourished Life Gratitude List 2018 – Week Two. Don’t forget to tell me below something you were grateful for this week. On Thursday morning I woke up a little tired and I wasn’t really feeling the morning walk that Penny and I usually take, so I let her roam around our tiny front terrace and popped on a morning yoga video (I love Yoga with Adriene for my home practice). I stretched and popped and planked and twenty minutes later I felt ready to meet the day. I was grateful to have twenty quiet minutes to start the day and ease into my body for the day. Also, Penny loves to come and sit with me at the end of my practice and just watch the birds outside.

Penny woke me up super early on Friday morning (5.00am! Anyone who has to get up at this time everyday you have my sympathy). Once I pried my eyes open and put my contacts we headed out for a beautiful long walk. On our way back we noticed a possum sitting on the grass. Usually possums we see around this area are either climbing on the telephone lines, or have already passed from this world. However, this one was still alive! I called the RSPCA and after returning Penny to the house I went and collected the little fellow in a box with an old towel. The RSPCA collected him in the morning. I don’t know the outcome, but I’m hoping he/she is resting up in the clinic now and will soon return to a nice big gum tree somewhere. This experience made me really sad that our native wildlife is so delicate and often the victim of human intervention (cars, pets etc) but it also made me grateful that I could stop and do something this time, and grateful for the service of the RSPCA. On Saturday night I had a meeting of my ladies bookclub. Except, we hadn’t read a book to discuss, and Chris came along….so it was really just a gathering of friends. We had a great night! Full of Tinder stories, dating advice, baby tales, and of course delicious food and a few adult beverages. I was grateful for a night of laughter and connection with friends, and I am always grateful that Chris enjoys entertaining people in our home just as much as I do. He is such great company, I think I’ll keep him around 😉Sunday marked three months of marriage for Chris and I! I can’t say that much as changed since we became Mr and Mrs, but in the last three months I have been grateful for Chris and I being on the same page with what we want from life, and our long term goals for our life together. I have had to make some big decisions in the past few months and I always feel like Chris has got my back and will support what I decide to do. I am grateful to be married to someone who is a good teammate, and wise counsel when I need it. Chris, Penny, and I spent most of Sunday sleeping or lazing about the house, which was perfect because the temperatures soared here and the best thing to do on those days is stay inside in the air-conditioning and laze about with your favourite people (or fur-people). I was grateful that Penny got the memo that it was a lazy day. I got so many snuggles! I am grateful that I had a day without any obligations, and no pressing errands (except for a spot of baking) so that I could spend it just unwinding and enjoying plenty of puppy cuddles.

Recipes I tried this week:

Have a great week friends! What were you grateful for this week?
